Painting with a full pallet....................

Another normally wasted product is the wood used to build the pallets on which other materials are shipped. Often the pallets are made of oak.

Here in the foyer/mud room, I've harvested that wood to create a rustic wall veneer.
This is probably not to everyone's taste, but to me it's consistent with the barn-like character of this home.

perfect solution for a heavily used space that you don't want to show wear!

Did you separate the pallet wood yourself? Wife & I were attempting to create reclaimed home decor, but the 'disassembly' was a rigorous process, then afterwards you still had to nail them without splitting, which wasn't easy...So what's the secret?

Just wrote you on Facebook, Doug. It was easy removing the planks with the Pallet Paw. For nailing, I just used the original holes in the boards, but I suppose you could just drill new ones if you need to. The wall was sheathed with OSB, so you could nail anywhere. Best wishes, Jeff
